Results From the Bruce Ivy Medal Night

The successful 2008 season was brought to a spectacular end with the BEST AND FAIREST PRESENTATION DINNER, which was held at the Abbotsford Brewhouse on Friday 26th September.

This was a magnificant evening with over 100 people in attendance to count the votes and crown the best players for season 2008. To follow on from his VAFA D4 best and fairest medal, Bill Irving was crowned best and fairest in the seniors to claim his fourth Bruce Ivey Medal in a very tight count. Pat Walpole was rewarded for his excellent year in the reserves and was awarded the Bob Baker Medal as best and fairest in the reserves.

Special awards were also presented to Chris 'Critter' Lehmann and Ian 'Tweeta' Twyford for reaching their 150th games during the 2008 season, while Steven Smythe was declared club man of the year and awarded the David Mcallister Shield in recognition of his superb efforts during the year in organising the 50th Anniversary and Legends dinner, as well as the West 2000 and many other duties around the club.
